October 16 ~ Thursday evening 7:00 PM. You are invited to join Cory & Masami Giesbrecht, who serve with Multiply in Osaka, Japan, sharing the love of Jesus with everyone they meet! Join us for dessert and discussion upstairs at the church.
October 21-23 ~ EQUIP 2025 is our National Study Conference, this year in Winnipeg, where people from our denomination get together to study the Bible together, around a specific question. This year the focus is: The Gospel, Peacemaking and the Kingdom: God’s Peace in an Age of Conflict, Chaos and Confusion. That could make for some good discussion!
November 2 ~ Sunday ~ Baptism and Membership – Everyone is welcome to join us as we welcome people into a public commitment to follow Jesus (believers baptism) and into a commitment to join a community of imperfect, but committed people seeking to know Jesus better and to follow Him more closely every day (membership).
November 16 ~ Sunday ~ Phil Gunther, our provincial Executive Director will be our guest speaker.
November 30 ~ First Sunday of Advent 2025 (= Christmas Season) – Join us for the Sundays that lead up to Christmas as we anticipate and celebrate the coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! During this season, we work to make each Sunday special.

RECENT EVENTS:
October 12 ~ Thanksgiving Sunday Worship ALSO: Aaron Amanda Nagy got married! This happened at the end of the worship service. Then we had a wonderful potluck lunch together. Kulchera decorated and several others laid out food and made coffee, tea and juice for all. It was a wonderful day!
October 5 ~ Thanksgiving Celebration Sunday! We had a time of worship – Darrell Vion was our guest speaker. Then we enjoyed a celebration meal together. We have our Thanksgiving a week early because on the long weekend some of our people are busy with family.
September 21 ~ Michael Pasloski, a former member of our congregation, is involved in prison ministry at Stoney Mountain Penitentiary near Winnipeg, MB.
September 7 ~ Fall Kick-Off Sunday – Worship at 11:00 AM; “Engage” at 10:00; Children’s Sunday School at 11:30; the Lord’s Supper; Potluck meal — ALSO Celebrating Olga Danyluk and her life of 104 years!

About Us
We come together to worship the Lord Jesus Christ and to share our lives together as we follow Him.
Our weekly worship services are key gathering times for our community of believers. We meet at 11:00 AM, at 332 Canora Ave. (3 blocks east of Highway #9) and we have children’s Sunday School during the adult teaching time. We meet both in person and also via Zoom (contact us for a link). Our services are not recorded for later viewing.
Sunday Mornings:
11:00 AM Worship in person or via “Zoom”. (You can get a link by contacting the church.) Our time together includes Scripture, singing, prayer and a message from God’s Word.
“Engage” (at 10:00) is a time for questions and discussion before the worship service. Everyone is welcome.
“Dive In” (at 10:00) is a time for youth (grades 6 and up) to gather and “dive into” God’s Word. They meet downstairs before the worship service on Sunday mornings.
Children’s Sunday School (about 11:30, during the sermon) is an age-appropriate time for children (ages 5 through grade 5/6) to learn about Jesus and have some fun together.
Wednesdays
5:00-6:00 PM Men’s Coffee at Wong’s Cafe (or Subway if Wong’s is closed) or you can join on Zoom (contact us for a link).
7:00-8:00 PM GCC Prayer Time on Zoom (contact us for a link).
Weekly

SUMMER CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAMS
Ketchen Lake Bible Camp – we are strong supporters of KLBC and invite children and youth to attend. There are camps throughout the summer – as well as a Family Camp. Greetings! I’m Pastor Greg Bright.
It is my honour to serve as pastor of this wonderful congregation in Canora. At times it can be a lot of fun!
We are a diverse congregation from a variety of backgrounds. We find our common ground in Jesus. We share a love for Him and a desire to know Him better. Together we seek to follow Him more closely in every part of our daily lives. I love our diversity! It mirrors, for me, the heart of our God who loves the whole world! Everyone is welcome and together we learn and grow as God speaks to us and through each of us by His Spirit.
My wife, Carolyn, and I are so thankful for our three children and their families. Two of our children are married and, in all, we have 5 grandchildren – all of them are a wonderful blessing! Carolyn and I are privileged to have served with Gateway Community Church for over 26 years and we continue to do so with joy.
Over the years Carolyn and I have worked at a few different second jobs. Carolyn is a substitute teacher and I am in my seventh year as a part-time Direct Support Professional working at the Canora Group Home supporting people with intellectual disabilities. It is an honour to serve God and others in this way too.
We see ourselves as partnering with God and His people while He does His work in us, among us, and through us in creative and wonderful ways. Moreover, we look forward with hope as we anticipate that the Lord will continue His work in the days, weeks, and years ahead.
